Finally, Full Release: Version 1.0

After god knows how many years, it's done.

For starters, allow me to get a little sappy.

More than 5 years ago, I had this idea of making a game around 3 colored switches, which you could manipulate to progress through a stage. At first, I made a janky ass 3D platformer in Unity. I wish I still had those files so I could look at it again...

Anyway, I couldn't figure out a cool execution out of that. That was until a random night at university, while talking about it with a friend, an idea came to mind! Geometry Dash. I had been playing that game a lot lately. What if I did a 2D runner kinda like that, plus the colored switches? ( If you look at my game, the inspiration is pretty obvious! )

Yet, it took many years for me to execute the idea, and polish it after many iterations. But even so, it doesn't mean this game is super crazy amazing because it took so long. That's because I didn't get to actually work on it during all this time, of course. I was only able to do it every now and then during vacations, and even that was tough with the little sanity I had left due to uni and whatnot.

Only these last two years I was able to put in a lot of work and move towards a full release. I'm glad to finally finish this now. Even if making games isn't financially viable as I hope, I can at least say I made a full game, and personally I think it's neat.

Let's talk about the stuff in the full release. A new world was added, the fourth and final one: Ocean of Galaxies.

This is the end of the journey, so I wanted it to be a chill and contemplative place. The music made by my friend is really on the spot for that vibe.

There's not a lot of new mechanics here, as it's the end of the game already. You'll be mostly revisiting all mechanics so far, mixed up. But I wanted something cool to happen at the climax. So you'll see something that will happen as you progress through the world...

Also, I redesigned the main menu. ( It was pretty damn basic previously! )

Next up, is the Expansion Pack. I wanted the game to be free with a very complete experience, so all this does is add Side-B stages and more player skins and colors. For those who go the extra mile to support us, you get to experience some unique level design choices I made! I wanted to have the most fun while designing those stages, so I went all-out. I really like some of those levels, despite some being a little weird!

And lastly I suppose, is a feature that I believe will help players a little more. Pause Time.

This game can get pretty hectic later on. Lots of colored platforms on the screen, oh god what do I do where do I go? Pausing time allows you to at least come up with a plan for dealing with the contraptions before you. This game is a mix of runner and puzzle, and I think this eases in the puzzle aspect, so it's not all only about lightning-quick reaction time.

Well. It's the end of this road. Where to next? We'll see.

Honestly, I have still one thing or two I'd like to add to this game, and I definitely have ideas for a sequel or something. But time will tell what will be.
